Hard to believe that through this brutal winter the Jones' garage and mud room were erected and clad with fiber cement siding to match the existing traditional lap siding. It was a tough job and one that I was not envious of every time I stopped by to take photographs. But at last there is a fully enclosed space that will be functional soon enough.
After that, it is off to Phase 2 which will focus on the landscaping and site design treatments which include a pergola, stone patio & driveway, and plantings. I think the scale came out just right with the 2-car garage (taller than your typical garage) and the mud room steps maintain a consistent datum around the 1st floor. The Joneses are exploring paint color options to make the entire project blend together and appear as if it has existed for generations.
